NFL Week 4 Betting Lines Preview

As we approach the first quarter mark of the regular season, many questions still linger as to which teams will move into the fast approaching playoff spotlight. While the Panthers and Packers will enjoy this year’s first “get out of jail free” cards, the rest of the field must continue their postseason march. Despite the uncertainty of what the rest of the regular season holds, the matchups this week are surprisingly even matched in regard to win vs. loss.

Looking past the fact that the Falcons are 1-2 so far this season, a QB showdown between Brady and Ryan is always an enticing prospect. While Belichick and company have not faltered in taking care of business during these first weeks, the Falcons and Patriots are tied at 6-6 in the regular season. Atlanta stands as good a chance as any to complicate New England’s current pattern of dominance.

After a loss in Week 3 against coach Reid and the Chiefs, the Eagles find themselves in a very realistic position to go 1-3 as they face what might be the most dangerous group of individuals in the National Football League. The Broncos continued to roll, not to anyone’s surprise, over the less than impressive Raiders on Monday night. After handing one over to Coach Reid and the Chiefs Thursday night Philly finds themselves very much in need of a win if they want to feel good about their chances for the rest of the season.

While they might have had success at shutting them down in the preseason, the Miami Dolphins will have a much more difficult time of getting the “W” this week against an undefeated Saints team coming off of a blowout win over Arizona. Undefeated themselves, the Dolphins will be headed to New Orleans after their victory on Sunday against Matt Ryan and the Falcons. With a spread of only 6 points this one is a tough pick.

After yet another loss for the Giants in Week 3, things aren’t looking any better as they must now face the unbeaten Chiefs, and at home no less. While Eli and his entourage have struggled thus far, they remain only a 4.5 point underdog to the Chiefs, who historically are 2-10 against the Giants in regular season play. If the Giants are planning on turning things around, this would be a good week to do so.

NFL Week 2 Betting Lines Preview

Week 2 Betting Picks & Tips

This week kicks off with the classic AFC East rivalry with the Patriots hosting the Jets at home in New England on Thursday night. With Rex Ryan’s position as head coach in jeopardy after a dismal 2012 season; Bill Belichik was conversely named “Top Coach” by NFL General Managers It’s hard to imagine either coach is taking the showdown any less seriously than the other.

Even with such a classic grudge match on tap, the “game of the week” award has to go to the Broncos and Giants for obvious reasons. Peyton is 2-0 against baby bro and undoubtedly looking to remind him for the third time which of them is the elder. With LB Von Miller serving the second of his six-game suspension the Broncos will be less one very formidable tool in their arsenal.

Many would argue that as great a matchup as the “Manning Bowl” might be, the most exciting of this week’s exhibitions will take place on Monday night when the 49ers take on Coach Carroll’s Seahawks.  Believed by most to be the powerhouses in the NFC West, both teams have great talent both on offense and defense. Russell Wilson promises a more productive start than last year where he didn’t really catch his stride until later in the season. Even with talent at the RB position like Marshawn Lynch; San Fran’s defensive unit is perhaps the most effective in the league as of right now.

The Steelers performance against Cincinnati on Monday night will be an interesting one as will many of their games this season. After a shaky year in 2012 Big Ben and the boys went 0-4 this preseason leaving many skeptical about what’s to come. Roethlisberger is in the tenth year of his NFL career having been with Pittsburgh for the entirety.

NFL Week 1 Betting Lines – Schedule Preview

The full week 1 schedule is below and you can check out our betting lines comparison by visiting our live lines page.

Week 1 Betting Picks & Tips

Football fans are chomping at the bit for something to do with their Sundays again and with that silly preseason out of the way we can actually get down to business.  While some teams look to have it easy in Week 1 like the Patriots in Buffalo, others such as the Green Bay Packers taking on the winners of the honorable mention award at last year’s Super Bowl aren’t as fortunate. This game should give us an idea of who we’ll see doing most of the bullying in the NFC division. Rex Ryan and his Jets look to put the past behind them with a new starting quarterback in Geno Smith; but with former CB Darrelle Revis on the other side of the field it may prove harder to get that first game momentum going against Tampa Bay than the Jets think.

It will be no picnic for the Giants either when they fly to Texas to take on the Cowboys Sunday night; but with WR Victor Cruz likely to get the green light for play morale in New York is high. With head coach Sean Payton coming off his season long suspension Saints fan will fill the Dome in New Orleans to welcome him back. Despite the fact that Drew Brees is the top ranked quarterback going into this season, the Saints will play the role of the underdogs taking on Matt Ryan’s Falcons. Ryan had a phenomenal season in 2012 and with Atlanta having one of the more favorable schedules in the league this year he looks likely to do it again.

Philadelphia welcomes the Redskins for an intriguing matchup between the half-injured Robert Griffin (I refuse to call him by his robot name) and half-retired Michael Vick. Vick showed a good bit of promise after filling in for and eventually taking the job of Kevin Colb, but since has shown little production and many mistakes on the field.

NFL Week 3 Betting Lines Preview

With Week 3 approaching it’s business as usual for some teams while others are still looking to find their rhythm. As Peyton and the Broncos dominate the AFC West and look to knock over the Raiders as the two touchdown favorite, coach Reid returns to Philly and hopes to do the same for his new family in KC. Though they might be a +3 underdog, the Reid element can’t go overlooked and will hopefully make for an exciting four quarters of football.

The most shocking spread of the week isn’t really all that shocking when you think about it. After the Sunday Night win over San Francisco the Seahawks are undoubtedly one of the last teams in the league that the Jaguars want to step on the field with after their so far disappointing start. At 19.5 points, it’s safe to say this one is perceived as a stepping stone game for Seattle.

The Vikings and Redskins will both fight to avoid 0-3 starts when they play as favorites against the Browns and Lions respectively. The Bears might have come away with wins in weeks one and two, but they came by a narrow margin. With a seasoned Steelers team still looking to catch their stride under Coach Tomlin this one could go either way. With a spread of just two points it’s a dice roll at best.

The Falcons will fly to Miami after their win against the Rams last Sunday to take on the 2-0 Dolphins. Despite their narrow loss against the Saints in Week 1, the Falcons are playing at a tempo that was expected of them after an excellent 2012 season. Even as the underdogs the Falcons will almost certainly be the toughest opponent for the Dolphins thus far. Keep an eye one this one.

Famous Poker Players from Holland

When it comes to poker, anyone from around the world can become a skilled professional. There have been several famous individuals come up from Holland, with Marcel Luske, Lex Veldhuis and Fatima Moreira de Melo serving as three of the most profitable. While these individuals have won a considerable amount of money while playing, they have also won a number of championships as well. You can play online poker with one of the pros in Holland.

Marcel Luske finished 10th in the 2004 World Series of Poker and, by 2009, had racked up more then $3.7 million in winnings. He quit his job as a salesman in 2003 in order to become a professional player and has a rather unusual style. While he always wears a suit to his games, he also flashes upside down sunglasses throughout the games. He won the European Poker Awards Player of the Year in both 2001 and 2004.

Lex Veldhuis is another Dutch poker player is rather new to the world of poker, as he is only 29 years of age. He has had nine money finishes in the World Series of Poker, one money finish in the World Poker Tour and four money finishes in the European Poker Tour. He also made it to the second day of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, 2009, after finishing with the high in day one through bluffs, although this eventually caught up with him in the second day, forcing him into an early exit without any cash winnings.

Fatima Moreira de Melo is a rather interesting addition to the Dutch history of poker. She was formerly a Dutch field hockey player and won a Gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, not to mention a Silver and Bronze medal previously. After retiring from the sport, she started as a television personality and is now part of the Team PokerStars. Over her short career, which only dates back to 2008, she has had seven different payout events. Her first came in November, 2008, where she placed ninth in the Master Classics of Poker, taking home almost $49,000. This, to date, still stands as her largest payout, although she did finish third in March, 2010 at the EPT Snowfest No Limit Hold’Em and fifth at the Master Classics Of Poker No Limit Hold’em. She currently plays a considerable amount online using the screen name FatimaDeMelo on PokerStars website and at the Fatima.fr French website.

There have been some rather important and influential poker players hail from the nation of Holland. These are just three of the more prominent and current players.

Week 2 Round Up

Week 2 Round Up and Wrap Up

Week 2 of the 2012 season has come to a close after last night’s Falcons Vs. Bronco’s game. That wrapped up things nicely for me as I bet on the Falcons at -3 and of course they covered winning 27 to 21. Things were tight at the end there and if Manning got the ball back I would of been sweating bullets as he seemed to finally find his groove after his disastrous start. I hope everyone else had a successful run of bets in week 2 and remember to check out our Live Betting Lines page as the week 3 games are already posted and will be updated every hour until game time.

We’re going to be including a more in depth betting tips preview starting with week 3 so stay tunes for our free picks.

League News

  • It looks like the Patriots have signed tight end Kellen Winslow. Find more details here
  •  Michael Turner was arrested last night with a DUI. This could be a good time to make a play for Jaquizz Rodgers on your fantasy team. ESPN has the full scoop
  • ESPN also has a great discussion on the future of quarterback salaries using Romo and Flacco as examples. Check it here
  • My beloved Eagles are in the top #5 and I think the only way to go is up so I gotta include a power rankings post here

Check Out These Rad Football Sites:

1.) Keepers Commish – Forget the hassles of declaring keepers over email and finish your pre-draft homework in seconds! If you declare your annual keepers using KeeperCommish, the site will analyze your league and instantly provide draft-ready reference reports, including;

  • a cheatsheet with kept players crossed out
  • a sortable list of the best remaining players, and
  • a graphical analysis of each team’s position needs

2.)  NFLWeather.com –  Is the only place to get precise stadium weather forecasts for every game. This can be crucial to monitor when placing bets. You have to account for when a team from the south plays a team from the northeast in the winter and how that may be detrimental to their performance.

3.) Scar Draft – Awesome site for mock drafts, rankings and forecasts. I’ll be paying close attention to this site leading up to the 2013 draft.

4.) NFL Draft 101 – These guys are the real deal and have a great team that’s been featured in major publications. 2012 was the first year I really paid attention to the lead up to the draft and NFL Draft 101 was my go to spot. They also keep up the great work during the season and have week to week insights on upcoming games.
