Week 5 Betting Picks & Tips

With New England meeting Denver this week  and with the Patriots being favored and the line set a -7 , we have the clash of the titans at the QB position with Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady. These QB are sure-fire first ballot hall of famers with a multitude of weapons at the disposal. Peyton has a budding star receiver in Demaryius Thomas, his lasting connection with Jacob Tamme who came with him from Indy, and Eric Decker who has been extremely productive in the past years using is sure hands to secure every ball thrown his way. The Patriots offense is also extremely high powered with Tom Brady at the helm and a multitude of weapons at his disposal that include arguably the #1 TE in Rob Gronkowski. Also, the pats have a plethora of WR, which include Brandon Lloyd and Wes Welker.

The real way this game is going to be determined is which team shows up on defense and as I see it I would have to place my bet on the broncos defense. Their defense is lead by the incomparable Champ Baily and Elvis Dumervil. They also have a sold line-backing core. I have never had much faith in the patriot’s abilities on defense and still have yet to be impressed by them, they have the 25 ranked pass defense. Needless to say take the upset in this one.

Official Pick: Denver Broncos at +7

Buffalo at SF with SF being the favorite and the line set at -9 .5 has the makings of a defensive battle the likes we haven’t seen in a while. SF has the best defense that I have seen for the past couple of years, they are stifling. Patrick Willis is the best linebacker in football and proves that every single time he plays he is any absolute monster on the football field whether it is in cover or stuffing the run. He has a big test ahead of him thou with the emerging star CJ. Spiller and the return of Fred Jackson who killed it last year. The bills also have a weapon on the outside in Stevie Johnson, he is a deep threat that can always break out for a big play.

The bills have ungraded their defense by acquiring Mario Williams, a stud DE. They also have a bunch of young talent that always is flying to the ball. They are certainly going to need that young talent vs. Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree, and Veron Davis. Veron Davis is the 4th ranked TE in the game and his game is still growing I think the sky is the limit for him with his athletic ability and sure hands. They also have a rejuvenated Randy Moss, who is not only a help on the field but, has been mentoring Crabtree who has all the tools to be great.

I would defiantly go with the favorite on this one and pick the San Francisco 49ers solely because they have the best defense in the league

Official Pick: San Francisco 49ers at -9.5
