Bovada Sportsbook Review

Bovada is our #1 recommended site for beginner sports bettors. They have been around since 1994 and have never had an issue with payments and transactions. They have the best customer service in the business and it’s available 24/7. Their initial deposit minimum is only $20.00 and they also offer a poker room and casino that you will have access to once you create your account. They don’t offer the highest levels of betting so if you’re looking to place bets over $500 take a look at 5Dimes or BetOnline.

Overall Rating 4.9/5

Key Points:

1.) Minimum Deposit is $20.00

2.) They accept Visa debit, check and credit cards. (If you have any deposit issues make sure to call customer service they always find a way to work things out)

Deposit Bonus

Bovada offers a 50% free bet on your first deposit of up to $250.00. That means that you can get up to a $125.00 free bet to place on any sport or wager type in the sportsbook. Here at NFL Betting Lines Guide this is one of our favorite kinds of bonuses because as soon as you deposit you are eligible to use your free bet. Casino’s, poker sites and other sportsbooks often have earned bonuses where they get released in small percentages as you clear certain play through levels. The upfront free bet offered by Bovada allows you the chance to make a major score to your bankroll right off the bat. The only major downside is you have to use your free bet within 30 days of signing up and creating your account.

Deposit Options

Depositing funds at Bovada can be done in any one of three different ways. The first accepted method of depositing is by way of credit or debit card. Credit card deposits are required to be at least $20 and will show up in your player account almost instantaneously. It should be noted, however, that a small processing fee will be charged every time you make a deposit.

The second avenue by which you are able to deposit funds to your Bovada player account is a MoneyGram Rapid Transfer. To complete this transaction you are urged to call Bovada and have them direct you to the nearest retail location where you are able to execute a Rapid Transfer. Once you pay for and send your Rapid Transfer you are obliged to call Bovada again, make them aware of your confirmation number, and within 15 to 20 minutes your funds will be available in your player bankroll. The minimum deposit requirement for a Rapid Transfer deposit is $100 while the maximum is $900. It should also be noted that a Rapid Transfer can be completed online as well. Fees are applied to Rapid Transfer deposits, though if you deposit more than $300 your incurred fees will be reimbursed by Bovada.

The last deposit option available to you from Bovada is a Money Transfer completed by way of Western Union. You can make this deposit online or in person so long as you are depositing at least $100 and no more than $5,000. Similar to a Rapid Transfer, there are fees associated with a Western Union Money Transfer, but if your deposit exceeds $300 Bovada will reimburse you for the fees you paid.

Withdrawal Options

At Bovada, simply because you deposited via a certain method does not mean that you are able to be paid out in the same fashion.

The first payout option offered by Bovada is through a Rapid Transfer, though if you did not deposit via Rapid Transfer you will not be able to withdraw through their service either. To be paid out by a Rapid Transfer you must be attempting to cash out at least $100 and no more than $800. Fees for this withdrawal method range from $20-$60 depending on how much cash you are attempting to receive.

The other, more common, payout method is by way of  a check delivered in the mail. Checks carry $50 fees, though in 2013 Bovada has given their members one $50 credit per month in order to cover processing fees.  Checks can be made out in any denomination over $20 and under $3,001. If you are attempting to cash out more than $3,000, your payment will be completed through a series of checks because Bovada pays out with checks in $3,000 increments.
